Exploring Denmark: Svendborg

On this sunny weekend, Flora and I explored the region and visited Svendborg – a small port town south of Funen. Thus, Saturday morning, we took the train from Odense to Svendborg and arrived after around 45 minutes. Note: A one-way train ticket from Odense to Svendborg is 78 kr with trains depart from the central train station nearly every hour. Since we also took our bikes with us, we had to get an extra ticket for 13 kr.

In Svendborg, we biked to the beautiful harbor and stopped there first before we headed to the city center for coffee and a cinnamon bun. Later on, we biked across the Svendborgsund bridge to the small island called Tåsinge and stopped on the way to enjoy the stunning view of Svendborg, Tåsinge, and the sea.

When we got back to the train station in Svendborg, we, unfortunately, missed the train. So we went to the harbor again and waited there before taking the next train back to Odense. All in all, it was a great day trip in even greater company, the weather was perfect, and Svendborg is also worth a visit.
